The Open Group Global Awards shine a spotlight on outstanding achievements across The Open Group international community. In 2025, we are proud to present a single, truly global program that celebrates exceptional projects, individuals, and initiatives aligned with The Open Group vision: Boundaryless Information Flow™ achieved through global interoperability in a secure, reliable, and timely manner.
Program Objective
At the heart of The Open Group is a global community of dedicated Members—organizations and individuals who continuously drive innovation, shape open standards, and contribute to real-world solutions that benefit industries worldwide. The Global Awards were established to formally recognize and celebrate these contributions, shining a spotlight on the outstanding achievements, collaborations, and thought leadership that make our community so impactful. Through this program, we honor the Members whose work exemplifies the values of openness, integrity, and excellence that define The Open Group.
Who Can Enter?
All Members of The Open Group global community—whether part of a corporation, government body, academic institution, or non-profit—are encouraged to submit and receive nominations.
Key Dates
- Nominations Open: August 18th
- Deadline for Submissions: September 26th
- Voting Opens: September 29th
- Voting Closes: October 10th
- Award Ceremony: November 3rd

Nominations can be submitted via our online form. Each submission should include a detailed description of the project or individual, the outcomes achieved, and how it aligns with the category's focus.
Award Categories
1. Best Application and Adoption of a Standard of The Open Group
This award honors organizations or individuals that have made exemplary use of a Standard of The Open Group, demonstrating measurable impact, best practices, and strategic value in their implementation.
2. Best Collaborative
Cross-Forum Project
Recognizing collaboration at its finest, this category highlights projects that bring together multiple Standards, Forums, or Working Groups, showcasing effective teamwork and unified approaches that break silos and drive results.
3. Most Significant Project
This award celebrates the project that has delivered the most far-reaching or high-impact outcomes, either within an organization, or across the wider ecosystem.
4. Best New Initiative
Spotlighting fresh thinking and bold beginnings, this category honors promising new initiatives that have already demonstrated clear momentum and the potential to become a major force in their respective domain.
5. Sustainability Initiative
This award recognizes efforts that uses Standards of The Open Group to contribute meaningfully to environmental sustainability, climate action, or socially responsible innovation.
6. EA Thought Leader
Celebrating individual excellence, this category honors an outstanding Enterprise Architect(s) who has/have demonstrated thought leadership, innovation, and significant contributions to the discipline of Enterprise Architecture.
