Mark Van Bavel
Topic: Global Merger combined with Digital Transformation using Enterprise Architecture as Strategy
In this presentation, Mark will discuss NTT Ltd’s overall digital transformation strategy and journey to integrate and merge 34 companies into “One NTT”. A complex multi-national merger, or a digital transformation in a competitive market, are both complex endeavours, and NTT are doing both to transform their company at the same time.
Enterprise Architecture, as a means to define the strategy, operating model, blue-print and roadmap, is key to defining, communicating and driving this strategic transformation. Mark will present how NTT uses Enterprise Architecture approaches, including target operating models, capability models, blueprints and application portfolio management to simplify, consolidate and modernise the IT landscape, thus enabling global agility, shared services, reduced operational cost through digital automation and technology modernisation.
Over the past twenty years at NTT, Mark Van Bavel has had numerous roles, from client consulting, to leading internal platform and digital transformations as Chief Architect, where he globalised the Dimension Data Service Delivery Platforms, as Group CIO, where he standardised Dimension Data to one Quote-to-Cash Global Template and ERP, and Group CDO where he modernised the front-office and established a global enterprise architecture function across the enterprise end-to-end.
Mark looks after the global technology and architecture strategy for NTT Ltd.’s global, central Service Delivery Platforms and Corporate IT Platforms, as well as platform development for the global Client Digital Services Platform. He started his career in Siemens Telecoms R&D as a software engineer, before moving to his twenty-year career at Dimension Data and latterly, NTT Ltd.
